As a village, we all play a vital role in supporting and nurturing healthy families in our community. No one is alone. Together, we can have a positive impact on every child, parent and family in Central Lake.

All-Recovery: Support Meeting & Resource Hub

Thursdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Ursula House (8084 W Old State Rd., next door to Central Lake First Congregational Church) & Zoom

Recovery is better together. We provide a safe, inclusive space for anyone navigating substance use, grief, or mental health challenges.

  • Weekly Peer Support: Join the conversation in person or online.

  • Resource Navigation: Get direct access to essential community tools and services.

  • All are welcome: we warmly invite those in recovery as well as allies looking to offer support.

CAPE-ACE Portable Cribs

The CAPE Council has provided CLEO partners with a few portable cribs to share with families who need a safe space for their child to sleep.


Central Lake District Library

The Central Lake District Library is our community library. They offer a variety of programs for the whole family.

  • Story time on Wednesdays at 10:30.


Central Lake Food Pantry

Community members are invited to visit the Food Pantry for food and other essentials every week.

Hours: Tuesdays 5 - 7 p.m. and Fridays 3 - 5 p.m.


Central Lake Public Schools

Central Lake Public Schools partners with CLEO to offer a high-quality education and learning environment for children birth through 12th grade. The district provides a comprehensive Infant and Toddler program, a 3-Year-Old Head Start Collaborative classroom, 4-Year-Old Great Start Readiness Program, before- and after-school programming, and a fun and enriching summer program. CLPS is committed to creating a developmentally rich environment where every child can learn and grow right here in our community.


Chain of Recovery

Supporting individuals and families affected by substance use disorder and mental health challenges through peer-
led support, advocacy, education, and community engagement.


Communities in Schools of NWMI

Offers support for children, and their parents, in removing non-academic barriers that prevent academic success.


Great Start Collaborative and Family Coalition– Central Lake

A regional organization made up of community leaders and organizations that have a vested interest in early childhood experiences and opportunities. The Great Start Collaborative is also a dedicated CLEO partner, bringing many resources directly to the families of Central Lake.

Ursula House

The Ursula House hosts a variety of support services including:


Wash Basket

As the local laundromat, the Wash Basket worked with the Great Start Collaborative to install a special place for kids to read and play.


Women’s Empowerment Group

Join us for a biweekly support group led by a licensed counselor at the Ursula House, 8084 W Old State Road.

Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan

The Women’s Resource Center provides services for residents of Central Lake and the surrounding region, including advocacy, support services, therapy, safe home, etc.
